TOTALLY FORGOT

I guess when I was writing my blog entry yesterday I completely forgot all the events of the previous week... oh well. Anyway, there's just two things I wanted to talk about so here goes...

Two Friday's ago we had our 3rd annual Halloween movie night (yes it was the week after Halloween). We had it at Janine's house and only rented one movie since we started a bit late. As usual there was tons of yummy junk food so we totally pigged out hehehe. Anyway, we watched Jeepers Creepers 2 since we watched the first one the year before. I had heard from a few people that it was better than the first one but alas it was worse. The story was really poor and the movie was not in the least bit scary... it wasn't even all that comedic (as most horror movies turn out to be). Hmm how should I describe it... boring, no that might be too harsh... mildly amusing... I don't know. I was just really disappointed. I wasn't really expecting much, but even the first one was better and it was pretty pathetic. The night was extremely fun as it always is, so it wasn't a complete loss. We ended up staying and talking until 3am... when I got home at 3:30 my brother gave me a lecture about coming home late and not leaving my cell phone on. It was really funny...

The next day I came back to rez early to work on some protocol thing that was due on Tuesday... it was crap so I won't talk about it... Moving along... Saturday night Christie, Lara, Matt and I went to see "Saw". We had all heard nothing but good reviews about this movie so we thought we'd check it out... It was NOT good. Once again I was extremely disappointed because I really wanted to get scared!! The acting in this movie was just horrible and I mean horrible. It was truly comedic... the whole theater was laughing, especially toward the end. The story had the potential to be good, but just didn't meet it. I must admit though that the ending was quite unexpected and would have had a greater impact if the movie had've been done better. Scary movies continue to disappoint me these days, especially the so called psychological ones. There have only been a few movies that have honestly scared me... Let's see... Candy Man: I don't really remember much of the story because I watched it a long time ago but I remember being really scared... of course this may just be because I was a lot younger... The Ring: Yes this movie really scared me. Not while I was watching it so much as afterward. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this one though. I lot of people didn't find it scary at all. I guess sometimes the atmosphere you watch a movie in can have a big impact on how it affects you... eh but who knows... I thought it was scary... Can't think of any others off the top of my head but I'm sure there are more. I'll leave that for another day...

VAUGHAN MILLS & HALO 2

Wow, it's pretty sad that I haven't posted since Halloween... What have I been doing you ask? Pondering life... specifically mine and where it's going. I thought I knew I wanted to do but I'm not so sure any more. I'd really like more time to figure things out but alas, graduation is creeping around the corner. I can't believe how insanely fast university flew by. It seems as though when you get older time passes by more quickly even though you're not having fun. It's really weird because the first 10 years of my life felt like an eternity and the past 10 years... well, not even close. I just wish I had some direction or some kind of goal to work toward. Everything is just so complicated. I want my life to be simple and fun... ah but that's too much to ask for... anyway, enough of this.

Friday night Rachel finally agreed to watch Star Wars (she had never seen it before)... unfortunately, about 10 minutes into it she fell asleep. But Lara, Matt and I watched the whole thing anyway. Conveniently, after the movie finished Rachel woke up. So we made some popcorn and watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (another movie she had never seen). She managed to make it through that one, but only because I kept yelling at her to stay awake. I really love the Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogies. They're probably some of my favourite movies ever... and Harrison Ford is really cute in them hehehe...

Saturday, Rachel and I went to check out the new mall. Holy crap was it ever packed, Janine had it right when she described it as "Yorkdale at Christmas" only I've never seen cars parked on the grass at Yorkdale. Anyway, after driving around a while we finally found a spot... or at least I though it was a spot until I actually got out of the car and realized it wasn't. But at this point I really didn't give a damn since everyone was parking anywhere they felt like. The first store we went in was this huge sporting store. If I had to describe it I would say it is the ultimate man's outdoor store. It sells basically everything you would need for any outdoor activity. It's decorated really nice but whoever designed the entrance and exits must have been on crack because they are really messed up. Once we got in the mall it looked like any other. Honestly, I was extreamely surprised because I thought it was going to be an outlet mall. In reality, it has regular stores and some outlet centers here and there. The whole thing is in the shape of a racetrack with a food court right in the center. What I really liked about it was the huge hello kitty store... actually it's kind of a Japanese home store but it has a ton of hello kitty stuff in it. Over all I thought the mall was decent but it's missing a lot of higher end stores and that was kind of upsetting... plus I was really hoping we'd get some American store and that just didn't happen. I think originally the mall was supposed to be a lot different. If I'm not mistaken, Dave and Buster and AMC were supposed to be in it but because they were taking to long to build the mall those places backed out and ended up at HWY 7. Eh, oh well. Hopefully things will settle down soon and the mall will actually be accessible.

My brother bought Halo 2 the day it came out but I didn't get to try it until this weekend when I got home. It’s pretty much the same as the first Halo except the worlds are different. Apparently throughout the game you play as the bad and good guy. This changes as the story progresses. I didn't play any of the main game... just watched my brother a bit. I did play against him though. I'm not really a big fan of shooting/killing games... just don't do it for me hehehe. Halo is entertaining though... but only when my brother and cousin play against each other... the excuses they make when the other one kicks their ass are just hilarious.
