DEATH BY ICICLE

I wonder how many people have been killed by a falling icicle? It would be a great murder weapon (it leaves no trace). Especially if you stab someone with one an then dump them out into a snow covered forest. They probably wouldn't be found until spring and by then the icicle will have melted. Rachel and I were talking about this a while ago. We had some really huge icicles over the front of our house. Everytime I walked under them I sped up (just in case). The other day Rachel and I finally just knocked them all down with a broom (it was quite fun actually).

This morning I had my final osteo bell ringer. I'm sooo happy I don't have to do anymore of them. They were getting really anoying (there was one like every two weeks). I think I did ok but I'll have to wait and see.

Tonight, Laura and I are going to the new Walmart, then I'm gonna go see her new house. After that I'm going to the pub for a few hours. There's gonna be a draw for a trip to the Dominican and you have to be there to claim the prize if you win (otherwise they'll give it to someone else). The odds are really good because last time I checked fewer then 100 tickets had been sold... I'm not holding my breath though...

We had our first murder mystery meeting this week and well, we didn't get a very good turnout but hopefully more people will come to the meeting next week. We wanna do an interactive murder mystery in Colman and we sorta have a general idea about the story (it's really good >> well at least I think so) but we're still in the planning stage.

Just a side note. I made a new friend this week, hehehe >> and I had a really super good dream (though I won't disclose the particulars >> let's just say I didn't wanna wake up).

SNOWBOARDING AND CPR

Last friday I went to Bluemountain for the day with Rachel and Christie (plus some people that work in the lab with them). The event was run by ECSU and was a really good deal >> $15 dollars for the day (coach bus and lift ticket). Rachel and I took the bus. We got to watch a bunch of really crappy movies on the way there and back. Except for Bruce Almighty, which I thought was quite funny. It was a really nice day, not too cold, though my scarf did freeze solid a few times. I attempted to teach Christie how to snowboard (it was her first time) and I think I did a pretty good job cuz she caught on pretty quickly. We left around 4:30 but didn't get back to campus till around 8:00. We had to make a 2 hour stop at the hospital to pick up the people that got injured. Overall, it was a really fun day (I had to skip a few classes though, hehehe).

All weekend long my roomies and I, plus a bunch of our other friends, took a first aid course. It was from 9am to 6pm each day. I think it was pretty interesting and fun at times, but the days were really long and I was really sore from the snowboarding so I was falling asleep half the time (I passes the course though, yay!) Saturday night everyone cam over to our house and watched movies (Uptown Girls and Pirates of the Carribean). Some of us ordered pizza and some of us got Wendy's... oh oh I just remembered, on Saturday there was a fire alarm at our school so we missed a whole hour of first aid. Firemen came and put out what most likely was a fire (it wasn't just some prank)... back to where I was. So ya Saturday night, it was fun. Sunday night I had to work on my genetics assignment which was insane. Though I think we may have done it somewhat correctely (it took a long time though). Today there is like this huge storm outside. Classes for tonight just got cancelled (too bad I don't have any). My class was this morning. I went to the osteology lab too >> we got 2 extra hours of lab time (thank goodness). I really needed to look at the hand and foot bones again.

SQUIRRELS EAT POGOS

Last night Rachel was digging through the freezer to get out some chicken for dinner. She had to pull out my box of 20 pogos to get to the bottom but she pulled it out wrong and placed it on the table upside down so all the pogos fell out of the box onto the table and floor. Obviously we couldn't save the ones that fell on the floor (our floor is really dirty), so we decided to toss some and put the others outside for the animals (we wern't really sure if any animals would actually eat pogos). Anyway, I completely forgot about the whole thing and didn't even check this morning to see if they were gone. Just before biometrics however, I saw a squirrel run across our back yard with this huge thing in it's mouth. I couldn't figure out what it was so I took a closer look and to my suprise, it was one of the pogos! I figured a raccoon would take them (certainly not a squirrel). I hope the poor thing doesn't choke on it....

A PENNY IN MY BED

This morning I woke up and there was a shiny new 2003 penny in my bed! Maybe it means I'll have good luck in the upcoming future... I already kinda did today... I'll start with last night. I had a really super long dream (like at least an hour) that was really nice. I not gonna write about it cuz it was sooo long but it was a great dream. In my first and only class today Val came up to me and was like "so I heard an interesting story..." Apparently Brian had told her about what I said to him. She told me that he was flattered and that he really doesn't think of himself as hot (oh but he sooo is). After class I tried to download a Weird Al song and to my horror I got a virus and a ton of spyware instead. I was so upset. I kept getting these damn errors on my computer, popup ads, and a stupid search bar. I was ready to dump my whole computer and start from scratch but then Rachel's boyfriend came over and fixed everything. He's a really nice guy. So my computer is all nice again and I even learned that I can do a system restore and go back to the way my computer was days or even months ago. I really should take the time to learn more about my computer.

SSLUR BLUE MOUNTAIN TRIP

Yesterday Rachel, Linda, Esther and I went to Blue Mountain with SSLUR (ski and snowboard club at our campus). The bus was supposed to pick us up at 4:15pm but because of traffic it didn't arrive until 5:00pm. By the time we got to Collingwood it was already 7:30pm. So we really only got about 2 hours on the slopes. It was still a lot of fun though. There were hardly any people there and the weather was pretty nice. It was snowing a lot but it wasn't overly cold. Rachel already new how to ski so she and I went to the bigger hills while Linda and Esther got lessons. We all want to go together again sometime. On the way home SSLUR took us all (there was about 40 of us) to Kelsey's and bought us drinks. We ordered a whole bunch of appetizers too cuz we were all starving. We got back to campus at around 2:30am. It was such a fun night, hopefully we'll get to do it again soon. This upcoming Friday ECSU is having its yearly Blue Mountain trip. It's from 7am-7pm and only costs $15 for lift ticket and bus ride, plus you get a free breakfast! I really want to go but I have class. But who knows, I may decide to skip...

OH MY GOSH, I'M SOOO CRAZY!!!

Last night I made a bet with Christie that if I told Brian he was the hottest guy in class I'd get $20.00 (I had to tell him today though). So obviously I took the bet. So today I get to class and Lara is sitting 2 seats away from him. So I sit between him and Lara. He was there really early which suprised me. I suppose I could have said it at the beginning of class (since there was so much time) but I figured it would be weird cuz I'd have to sit next to him for the rest of the class. Anyway, I was really nervous waiting for class to end and in the last 15 minutes my heart started pounding really fast. But I was determined (I really need money). So as soon as the class ended I said, "hey can I tell you something?" >> he then must have said something like "ya" or "sure" but I can't really remember. Then I said, "I think you're the hottest guy in class". Then he gave me this, why are you telling me this?, expression and said, "ok". Then I said, "oh but don't think I'm weird or anything. I'm getting paid to say this." Then he said, "you're getting paid?" (he had kinda an inquisitive look on his face). Then I said, "ya it was a bet, but I really do think you're the hottest guy in class". Then he smiled and said, "well I hope you get some money". So then he started to walk away and I said, "wait, what's your name", he said, "Brain" (and I'm not sure, but he may have asked what mine was or I may have just said it). So then I said, "my name's Marla", and he was like "sorry what was that?" so I said "Marla". And then we said our goodbyes. He was sooo cute (especially when he started smiling).

Gotta get ready to go. I'm going snowboarding with Rachel, Linda and Esther tonight. We're going to Bluemountian with SSLUR (it's the ski and snowboard club at our school. I can't wait, it'll be my first time this year. The bus leaves at 4:15 so I gotta get stuff together, eat something and change into some warmer clothes.

THIS IS WAY TOO FUNNY TO NOT POST

Wow, it just keeps snowing and snowing. I hope it will be a snow day... My friend sent me this and I laughed so much I nearly died. Enjoy!

INEXPERIENCED CHILI TASTER

Notes From An Inexperienced Chili Tester Named FRANK, who was visiting Texas from the East Coast: "Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge at a chili cook-off. The original person called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking directions to the beer wagon, when the call came. I was assured by the other two judges (Native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy, and besides, they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted."

Here are the scorecards from the event:

CHILI # 1 MIKE'S MANIAC MOBSTER MONSTER CHILI

JUDGE ONE (AKA: Charlie Weaver): A little too heavy on tomato. Amusing kick.

JUDGE TWO: Nice, smooth tomato flavor. Very mild.

FRANK: Holy poop, what the hell is this stuff? You could remove dried paint from your driveway. Took me two beers to put the flames out. I hope that's the worst one. These Texans are crazy.

CHILI # 2 ARTHUR'S AFTERBURNER CHILI

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): Smokey, with a hint of pork. Slight Jalapeno tang.

JUDGE TWO: Exciting BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.

FRANK: Keep this out of the reach of children I'm not sure what I am supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver. They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my face.

CHILI # 3 FRED'S FAMOUS BURN DOWN THE BARN CHILI

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): Excellent firehouse chili! Great kick. Needs more beans.

JUDGE TWO: A beanless chili, a bit salty, good use of peppers.

FRANK: Call the EPA, I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like I have been snorting Drano. Everyone knows the routine by now get me more beer before I ignite. Barmaid pounded me on the back; now my backbone is in the front part of my chest. I'm getting poop-faced from all the beer.

CHILI # 4 BUBBA'S BLACK MAGIC

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): Black bean chili with almost no spice. Disappointing.

JUDGE TWO: Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or other mild foods, not much of a chili.

FRANK: I felt something scraping across my tongue, but was unable to taste it, is it possible to burnout taste buds? Sally, the barmaid, was standing behind me with fresh refills; that 300 lb. bitch is starting to look HOT just like this nuclear waste I'm eating. Is chili an aphrodisiac?

CHILI # 5 LINDA'S LEGAL LIP REMOVER

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding considerable kick. Very Impressive.

JUDGE TWO: Chili using shredded beef, could use more tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong statement.

FRANK: My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off my forehead and I can no longer focus my eyes. I farted and four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chili had given me brain damage, Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring beer directly on it from a pitcher. I wonder if I'm burning my lips off? It really pisses me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming. Screw those rednecks!

CHILI # 6 VERA'S VERY VEGETARIAN VARIETY

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good balance of spice and peppers.

JUDGE TWO: The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic. Superb.

FRANK: My intestines are now a straight pipe filled with gaseous, sulfuric flames. I poop myself when I farted and I'm worried it will eat through the chair. No one seems inclined to stand behind me except Sally. Can't feel my lips anymore. I need to wipe my ass with a snow cone!

CHILI # 7 SUSAN'S SCREAMING SENSATION CHILI

JUDGE ONE(AKA: Charlie Weaver): A mediocre chili with too much reliance on canned peppers.

JUDGE TWO: Ho Hum, tastes as if the chef literally threw in a can of chili peppers at the last moment. I should take note that I am worried about Judge Number 3, He appears to be in a bit of distress as he is cursing uncontrollably.

FRANK: You could put a grenade in my mouth, pull the pin, and I wouldn't feel a damn thing. I've lost sight in one eye, and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water. My shirt is covered with chili, which slid unnoticed out of my mouth. My pants are full
of lava-like poop to match my damn shirt. At least during the autopsy they'll know what killed me. I've decided to stop breathing, it's too painful. Screw it, I'm not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air, I'll just suck it in through the 4-inch hole in my stomach.

MORE INDICATIONS OF PSYCHICNESS

I had a bunch of really odd dreams last night. The best one, and possibly the strangest happened like this....

I went to my friend's house (for some unknown reason), and I should mention that the house that I went to was not in fact her actual house but I believed it to be in the dream. Anyway, back to the story. When I got there I knocked on the door but no one answered. The door was unlocked so I decided to go in. NOTE #1: I would never actually enter someone's house without permission (even if the door was unlocked). So I go in and look for anyone who might be home, but no one is there. So instead of leaving (which would be the logical thing to do), I go up to her brother's bed room. Now I'm sure anyone who is reading this is thinking, hey this is getting weird >> don't I know it. So I'm in his room and a picture on the wall is crooked, so I straighten it up. As well, the bed is unmade so I make the bed and leave the room. >> um ok like what the hell?!? This is just way weird. >> After I leave the room, I go downstairs and am about to leave when my friend's aunt walks in. She asks me what I was doing there, so I say that I knocked on the door but no one answered so I came in and looked around for everyone but they were all gone and I was just about to leave. She asks me if I wanna stay and talk for a bit, so I do. I finally decide to leave and when I try to close the front door it falls apart! So I go back in and tell my friend's aunt and she asks me if I have photo ID (now why is that important??). Somehow we resolve the door issue and I am finally about to leave for good when my friend's mother, father, and brothers come home. For some reason I stay a bit longer and my friend's brother goes up to his room (obviously see's what I have done), comes back down and says, "thanks". I leave and the dream ends. The "thanks" was the best and most distinctive part of the dream for me. I think the whole thing was building up to that moment... Now onto the psychicness. Today in biometrics, Brian showed up to class, which is a big bonus cuz I think he's really cute (I may have mentioned him once before in this blog). Anyway, at the end of class he had to walk by me so I moved my chair for him and he said the very same "thanks". It's the first words he's ever spoken to me. Now I'm sure you're all thinking, well of course he said thanks, but still. It's strange how I would have a "thanks" dream the night before he said those exact words to me. And it's not as though this is the only dream of mine to ever come true. Lately, as I'm sure I have told you all, my dreams have been coming true >> Forensics, Golden Key, party invitations, Maximus's birthday, and now this >> Plus, I just remembered that once, in high school, I dreamt the solution to a computers problem and the second I woke up I wrote it down. Sure enough, the next day in class, I entered my new code into my program and it worked. For the record, I do not in fact believe that I'm psychic (though I like to say that I am... hehehe), but lately there's been a lot of coincidences.

JONATHAN BRANDIS COMMITTED SUICIDE

I was just reading random blogs (cuz I was bored) and I read that Jonathan Brandis committed suicide last year (November 2003). He was only 27 years old. For those of you who have no idea who I'm talking about, he was the guy in Lady Bugs, "Martha". He also played in Sea Quest, The Never Ending Story II, and a bunch of other movies. I just can't believe it. I had the biggest crush on him >> and that says a lot cuz generally I don't really get crushes on actors (it's like they're part of a separate world), but I really liked him. Apparently he hung himself in his apartment and left no suicide note. So no one really knows why he did it.

HELP!!! MY SPELLING IS HORRIBLE!!!

O.K. As I'm sure anyone who knows me, or who reads this blog can tell, knows that my spelling is horrible. So I am officially making an effort to improve it. I have added a "Sp. Errors" (spelling errors) link at the bottom of each post (it's actually just a comments link). Anyway, if I have spelled any word wrong please tell me what it is (and the correct spelling of the word) in my "Sp. Errors" section of that post. I'm going to compile all the words and hopefully learn how to spell them correctly. I only want incorrectly spelled words listed though (not silly mistakes like leaving out an "s" or "ed" at the end of a word or even typing "fro" instead of "for" << which I do quite frequently).

Christina, Janine, Lisa and I had our Christmas movie night last night. We watched Little Women (which I had never seen before), and A Muppet Christmas Carol. Both movies were really good. We ate a whole bunch of corn cheesy things and junk food. It was fun. We also watched some figure skating. Lisa wanted to see this guy (who had a really nice looking face but whom we suspect is gay). He came in first place (I can't remeber what his name was, but he wore a hot pink and black leather skating outfit). He was a really good technical skater but I just didn't really like preformance >> and especially didn't like his choice of music. But hey, he came in first so what do I know.

I just started reading this manga called Maramalade Boy. It's really good and super funny. It's about this girl whose parent go on a vacation, meet another couple and decide to get a divorse and switch marriage partners with them. On top of all this, they're all gonna live together. The other couple also have a son the same age as the girl (he just happens to be really hot). I'm pretty sure that the guy and girl (now step brother and sister) are gonna fall in love. It seems like it'll be really interesting. I was hooked after the first few pages (so now I've gone and ordered four more books off amazon >> I'm spending way too much money).

NICE JOB ON THE BLOG!!

Hey Janine, GREAT BLOG!! I added a link to it. Though I must say, I copied your poem idea and added my favorite poem to this blog.

I finally decided that forensic pathology was just gonna be too torturous for me so I'm taking advanced genetics instead. I always wanted to take the course but no one would take it with me (it's the kinda course where it's beneficial to know people in the class). Anyway, Christie said she'd drop pathology and take it with me so everything is great now!! I was gonna be sooo stress out worrying about pathology so I'm happy now.

We had our osteo bell ringer this morning. I think it went pretty well but I'm so mad about one question. I started answering the question in the wrong box and by the time I'd realized what I'd done I only had enough time to transfer the answers I had to the new box. Unfortunitely I missed looking at one of the features so I'm gonna lose marks on that question *tear*. But I'm sure it'll be ok cuz the rest of the test was fine.

Tonight I'm going out with a bunch of friends from rez. We're going to see a movie though I'm not sure which one yet and then getting bubble tea. I've only had it once before and I wasn't too fond of the tapioca balls. They kinda reminded me of slimly frogs (but that just my opinion). You can get the bubble tea without them so that's what I intend to do.

DREAMS...

Two nights ago I dreamt that I woke up and it was Monday at 3:30pm. Since my forensic pathology class starts at 2, I was so upset and couldn't figure out why my roomates wouldn't wake me up. Once I got up, I saw that everyone was still at home at which point Lara informed me that she had gotten the class schedual and it didn't actually start today until 4pm (so I wasn't late after all). For some reason we where not actually living on campus so my mom had to drive me to class. However, along the way we passed by a garage sale and I just happend to see the Strawberry Shortcake Berry Happy Home. So obviously we stopped. The lady holding the garage sale sold it to me for 92 cents. Plus I got a whole bunch of dolls too. The house wasn't complete so the lady told me that she had the other half inside and she'd get it for me. When she came back she handed me a box with castle gray skull in it. So I was like, "um, this isn't the berry happy home". So she took it back. She kept wanting to talk to me but I was already late for class, so I told her I had to go. The dream ended there. Man, I wish I really would find the berry happy home for 92 cents.

Last night I had a nightmare about forensic pathology. I went to class but I didn't have anything to say so I kept losing marks. I also dreamt that everyone who was supposed to be talking ancient astronomy and astrology with me, dropped the course so I was all alone. I decided to stay in the course anyway but when I went to the class it was more a history of art type course. I was like, what the heck!!! The dream ended shortly after that. Today I actually did go to that class >> no one had dropped it and it is most definately not an art history course. It actually seems like it'll be pretty interesting *crosses fingers*...

"I AWARD YOU NO POINTS AND MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL"

I just finished watching Billy Madison and the above quote was my favorite from the movie >> and possibly my favorite quote from any movie (though space balls does have a lot of great quotes).

Anyway, I had my first class today (forensic pathology) and I have to say, I'm scared out of my mind!!!!!! The course material seems really interesting but we have to do a seminar and we have to participate in class discussion every lecture or we'll lose marks! I'm so scared. I wanna drop out but I think doing this can only be a positive skill building experience so I'm gonna stick with it (though I can't quarentee that I'll make it through this semester without having a nervous breakdown).

Conciousness is composed of 2 parts: awareness and awakeness >> this is one of the things we talked out in class today. It was said that when you are sleeping you are not concious because you are not awake. But why can't you be concious when you're sleeping? If you, while sleeping, are aware that you are sleeping isn't that still some form of conciousness?? Why do you have to be awake? Many times I have been dreaming and have been aware that I was both dreaming and sleeping. Why isn't this conciousness?? I think it should be...

I'M BACK

Well, I'm officially back on campus and my computer is all set up, yay! Though I'm not too happy about classes starting tomorrow. I just typed up my schedual and it doesn't look too bad. My first class on Mondays is at 2pm, and 1pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so I'm gonna get a lot of sleep this semester. I still don't even know if I passed my courses from last semester. The grades haven't been posted yet! Like come on, it's getting a little ridiculous now. Anyway, since I've haven't posted in a while I'm gonna go back a bit in time now...

New years eve, Janine, Lisa and I went to a hall >> Terrace >> it was a really nice place. The food was really good and there was tons of it. Ther was an antipasto bar, sushi bar and people cooking shrimp and cheese. The sit down meal was gnocci and a cream pasta with ricotta, then shrimp, steak, salade, veggis, potatoes and ice cream for dessert. There was a live band and a DJ. Overall it was a really fun night. I'll be posting pictures soon.

Last Friday I went for my first facial ever. It was really nice and relaxing, though it doesn't seem to have really done anything for my face (that can't be good). It was about an hour long >> I particularily like the exfoliation part (not sure of the spelling). Last night I went to Christina's house for tea (I drank hot chocolate though). We ate truffles and talked. There were some candles on the table that were melting and I just couldn't help but play with the wax >> I'm such a little kid. Anyway, it was a good night. I've been driving everywhere lately. I'm kinda getting a bit more brave on the road, I just hope a don't kill myself (knock on flesh).
